At some point in 2025 I became aware that Mangoop opened a new joint in Ljubljana. Their only previous location was in Kamnik which meant that I had basically no way to get to them... unless I was willing to travel there. I was not.
Still, the Ljubljana location did not do much to entice me. I tried four of their burgers before - one of them twice - at several Pivo & Burger Fests and was left wanting. I concluded their product simply wasn't that great and moved on.
But something continually gnawed at me in the back of my brain. "Look at those ingredients," the voices said. "There's no way these burgers suck. I know you tried them five times but those were all flukes, man," they said.
About a year later I finally gave in and visited the joint. I figured that was the best way to get rid of the voices (booking a doctor's appointment is a pain in the ass, I'm not doing that).
That visit changed everything.
... where by "everything" I mean my prior assumptions about Mangoop. The main realization being that their burgers aren't merely decent. They're fantastic. It's their festival prep that sucked. Every. Single. Time.
You can read more about the individual burgers on their respective pages. I left the old reviews intact and simply added the new reviews on top.
The only thing I'll point out here that applies to all their burgers is that their buns are very unique from the rest of the competition. Very thin and brittle dark brown crust on the outside, nothing but fluffiness on the outside. Some of the best in the business. And they're huge. I was impressed, needless to say.
